Go for it. The "Special Road Racers" were great, and still are! Fuji stopped with the S-12-S in about 1982, and it was an 18-speed by then. Keep an eye out for a "donor" bike that has the parts you are looking for. SunTour is nice stuff. BTW, you probably mean Ukai rims, since that is what the Fujis came with.
