find a set of used trigger shifters, you will be much happier.
I upgraded both kids MTBs with them and they are the best upgrade I ever did for them.
this particular set is Shimano V-brake and is bulletproof, I have never seen them break, I have swapped out plastic versions of them.
I honestly think they never made a better pair-(3 x 7 speed)
