Will mountain bike shifters work with a road cassette + RD?
I have a 2004 mountain bike that I am considering turning into a commuter with some spare parts. (Currently 9 speed and heavily worn) Before I start taking everything apart I wanted to know if these parts were compatible.
Shimano 105 RD, 105 12-25 Cassette 10spd with new XT 780 shifter or SLX 10 speed.
I don't own the shifters but might buy them if they are compatible.
Will XT and 105 work OK?
