I have been eyeing up this book for a while, sounds better than i was expecting.

I second growing a beard, i had frost forming on mine on the commute to work this winter (always foggy here so you end up wet from all angles). Tho i typically have one so i dont get stubble rubbing in motorcycle helmets.

From cold riding and camping on motorcycles i can recommend a neoprene half face mask - with a nose peak. They are windproof, waterproof and have enough venting so you dont end up with condensation from your breath.

I keep my electronics (usually just a basic cell phone for emergencies) as close to my body as possible, in an inside picket where im not likely to fall on it during a crash). Do that with your batteries too, otherwise the cold kills them.

use your stove fuel to de-ice your chain (wd40, kerosene, gasoline)

Plastic bags, have lots of these, put on a pair of socks or gloves, then a plastic bag, then a second sock/glove
