Wald Basket

I have ridden many hundreds of miles over the past 5 years with my 20 pound dog aboard. Works fine for smooth surfaces but the steering is sluggish and you have to pay attention. Good for boardwalks and bike paths but would not recommend for street use. No dodging potholes with this rig. I installed a longer axel and double nutted it so I could take the basket on/off without disturbing wheel alignment. I've used it on a World Sport, the Rabineck pictured, and more recently on a Breezer hybrid. I need the upright bars due to neck/back injuries. Takes about 5 minutes to put on/take off. I used a same type basket to deliver newspapers on a Schwinn Black Phantom when I was a kid(yeah, I'm old). Don't know how I did it; rig must have weighed 75 pounds when fully loaded.
