So. I did the spuds

Bike related validation for posting - This morning, 50 kms, 2 hours, solo, whizz. Very nice - and although I wouldn't call it a hangover, wine had been taken last night, so deep breathing and oxygenation made every kilometre a bit smoother than the last one!

And I'm back from a lovely Christmas gathering. 14 people. Each group or couple contributed something. I did veggies.

Me. Parboiled spuds, 12 mins in boiling water, spuds peeled and the peel in a bag adding spuddiness. Drained, heated again to evaporate till dry. Cool, then shaken till rough, then overnight in groundnut oil. This morning, 2 hours at 400 F. Blimey, I have to brag. Crisp outside, fluff inside, they went down well.

Sprouts, 10 minutes, in half water half orange juice, drained and steamed with almonds and grated orange zest.

You?
