SWEET! I have both a Alum. and Steel hybrid so I know what you speak of, my Alum. bike is a bit mellower than your bike as it has a cro-mo fork but the Alum. frame does seem "more lively" and doesn't soak up the road vibes like the steel. I kinda thought the "carbon fibre" fork would do a bit better job of, "soaking up" the vibes, that's what everyone says?? I was going to get a carbon fibre replacment fork for my Jamis Allegro 1 but I might just leave the cro-mo fork on it. ENJOY!
