my shortest safe commute one is 10.8 miles and usually riding home I ride a different route to stay safe/ less traffic but longer ride.
I would not mind biking as much if it was closer to the time it took me to drive. 30 or so minutes to drive and 40 plus to ride 10-13 minutes changing before I ride.
