No De Rosa experince here (couldn't ever afford those anyway). But I do know French bikes and lots of them might have the more "relaxed" geometry you are looking for.
Check out Peugeots.....not as "fancy" as most Italian bikes, but Peugeots have rides that are highly thought of by cyclists through the generations and they do make high end models that can mingle around hoity toity Italian brands without looking too much out of place.......but don't expect the De Rosa/Italian C&V bike "paparazzi" to gather round it any time....
Anyway, it's all about "the ride".....
