It might take me a few days to get that many.

I just finished reading sheldon's articles on DIY gearing for older bikes and spacing the frames.
Not exactly sure if I think I will go to those ends yet(bending with boards and whatnot). I think getting her into Indexed shifting will be important.

As of right now (looking at what the others posted and cleaning it last night.

The bike has friction shifters, and a 5 speed freewheel. So either the friction shifter is for a 6 speed(original?) or not adjusted properly, it tries to jump over the largest gear if turned too far.

So getting a 700 set that is a 126mm rear and putting a 6 speed back on, will I have to stay freewheel or can I use a cassette? Im going to have to replace both derailers and brakes, correct?


Thanks again for the friendly response to the dumb questions. I am reading and learning so much everyday (way harder to get this info talking to most LBS employees)
