There is no Normal Length the crank arm design influences the BB it requires super low profile design
the arm comes in to meet a shorter spindle , Old designs like TA used a long BB to reach out to the crank arm.

Get the BB that lets the chainring just clear the seatstay on the frame ..

Have your Bike shop Help you with that, then you don't have to ship your rejects back ..
