I think you'll find that since this is her "first" big bike, the schraeder valves will be easier for HER to use if your not there and she's say riding around the neighborhood. Although not fancy, those componets will be "fine" till she get's use to riding, LOL, she will "probably" want a higher end bike fairly soon anyway! Mine did and she just used the "first bike" as her "commuter" to ride to work and back and it gives her a "back up"!!
