Looking back, I think I was dropped due to poor strategy rather than poor conditioning (although the peloton's pace was about as high as I could maintain). One of the straights was straight downwind, and the other straight upwind. I tried to use the downwind section to recover, and overestimated my ability to catch back on coming into the wind. Lesson learned. Looking forward to the next one.
