I can't recall the last time I have actually seen anyone stop when turning right on red unless they absolutely had to - for instance a cement mixer bearing down on them. Although I take advantage of this law, I am an advocate for its repeal. CB HI is right, it puts crossing pedestrians in quite a bit of risk.
