We were in the house, sleeping, and our 4 week old twin boys were two rooms away. Not cool. And they skipped over all of the power tools and stole a 2006 Trek hybrid worth maybe $150.
Yikes - though, glad they were kind of stupid and took the relatively worthless bike. I experienced a break in while I was home sleeping (never woke up - discovered the missing items and open window the next morning) and it threw me for a loop for a while.

Does your insurance have a low enough deductible to even cover that? Or do you have a rider for the bike(s)? My homeowners insurance won't give me a rider or personal property policy for my bikes which I find to be really stupid. They'll do it for jewelry but not bikes? Annoying.
