True, but I think it makes sense to not put all your eggs in one basket. Wiggins does not seem to be in top form in the mountains so Sky let Uran go ahead and I suspect he may become their GC contender unless Wiggins recovers. Sky has the depth to do that while other teams do not. Garmin has pretty good depth and I think they should have used it for the Giro. Neither Talansky nor Martin are in the Tour of California so I presume they are saving them for France, but I think they had a better chance to win the Giro than Tour de France. Of course hindsight is 20/20, but I did express surprise at the start of the Giro that neither Talansky nor Martin was in the race.
