Ron, it appears to be just by the water. Rode yesterday with Maggi and a friend of hers who's been off the bike for a couple of years. Did 25 miles with a stop in Crewes Lake Park. When we rode out onto the wooden pier over the water and stopped, the same*whatevers* started showing up. So we rode off the pier and stopped at the train station for a break, (200 meters from the water), and no sign of them.
