Kaylani Coffee is a good rest stop if you're into coffee, across from a bike rental/shop and is conveniently either the first or last stop depending on where you are coming from until Dana Point.
I stop there if I'm alone. Yesterday was a club ride from Carlsbad to Dana Point so we made a quick stop at the 7-11 behind it.
