Having the bars at that angle keeps my wrists straight, I have an old injury that gets aggravated otherwise. And the paint is an afternoon's work. Like I said, once I get some more parts that necessitate a major disassembly of the bike, I'll do the paint.

As for the nerd-ring... Yeah it looks even more weird without it. That particular crankset relies on it. And it keeps my pants out of the chain. (Remember, I ride this to work, not allowed to wear shorts where I work.)

Also I look like a bear riding this thing. The bike is pretty well sized for me, but I'm also still a pretty burly dude.
