I own one that is, for now, stock. I'd say you should go on ahead and get it--upgrade the saddle, though.

Diamondback has some pretty looking, but terrible feeling saddles.

Then get the stem trimmed if you need it.

If you have any flex on the crank, take it off, grease the taper and tighten it down completely.

All you need to know about the Podium 1 -- It's been a great first full road bike for me. I moved to it from a single speed Fuji Track Classic--no, I wasn't on the hipster fixie bandwagon.

If you have any questions, any at all about the Podium 1--ask me. After a few months of owning and tinkering I would be willing to call myself pretty set about it.
