BIG boy wants a new toy

Hi, I have been away from bikes for many years due to physical health.
My question is this, can someone in the 400 lb. area ride a Giant Revive?
I know most times it's about the wheels and front suspension, and the one I am looking at has laced spoke wheels. In the past I have never had a problem with them (mountain bikes mainly) unless I crashed or ran over with my trucks...long story.
This bike has really, really caught my eye. The fact it has 20" wheels leads me to think it would be durable enough because of the short spokes compared to those on 26 and 27 inch mountain bikes. A couple weeks ago my friend son let me ride his 20" mx'er around the block and no damage to wheels. And being a modern Wal-Mart bike it's probably not as durable as a Trek, etc.
I would be mainly riding secondary roads that are oil and chipped (basically like asphalt). Also wouldn't be the all-day or mega-mile kind of riding. Maybe 20-30 min. a day and build from there.
