She will be fine. If she likes Indian food, there are several good ones near the Energy Corridor and they always have a lot of vegetarian dishes. Most of the tex-mex restaurants have vegetarian dishes on the menu as well. As for getting to the trail, if you are living north of westheimer between BW8 and Hwy6, you should be able to ride to the trail along a road with a marked bike path or on a sidewalk. Otherwise, I would park in one of the lots mentioned along Hwy6 and go west from there through George Bush Park. The previous post stated the trail goes another 4 miles west of Hwy 6. That is incorrect. There is a short stretch where you travel on a paved, but very quiet road south from the Constable's Annex, to get to the rest of the trail, but starting at Hwy 6, you can go about 12 miles one way to Fry Road.
