I think the glitch was not Strava but your GPS unit on the phone itself. Strava simply uses the data from the GPS and brings it into their format. It works. I ran it with my Iphone for a few years. The only problem I had was the battery would get run down on longer rides and I would not get all my data.

I am running the garmin 800 and sending the data to strava for my uploads.

Strava is not for everyone but I enjoys the site
