good tt brake levers - my tektro eats cables

Hi,
I ride all kinds of brakes on mtb, road bikes, the tt tektro tl720 are the worst brake lever I've ever used. It seems to be designed to stretch the cable near the head until it snaps. I have a hilly commute, getting tired of constantly adjusting my brake cable to account for cable stretch. This happened after 2 weeks of downhill:
.

Any suggestions for tt levers that offer good stopping power(steep hills) and treat cables gently? Are the shimano tt levers better?

I'm using disc on front wheel. Do hydrolic tt brakes even exist?
