Keeping shoes at work is a great idea. Hard-soled business shoes (even business casual shoes) are miserable to carry in a backpack. They take up so much room in the pack (I wear size 12) and are heavy. I keep one black pair and one brown pair in my locker and rotate them with two others about once every week or two (on days I drive my car) just for variety.
