Ummm, I've lived through a number of "explosion of interest" periods already, and they pre-date 1995 by at least a decade. My own Davidson hand built bicycle is from 1981. Fixies were popular in the early 70s too. I was a bike messenger in 1969 for a very short while. Everything old is new again.
