Still, depending on where you live in Brooklyn, I don't think Sunrise or Merrick are bad options. And as I said, there are quiet neighborhood streets that run parallel to them at various points.

I've never done the ride you had intended to do, so I guess I should've just shut up. But having driven or ridden just about every mile of Sunrise and Merrick in my life, I would still consider the parts in Nassau and Queens "bikeable." So sue me.
