Not sure if you know the "typical" to-the-beach route from the BP path. By typical, I see a whole lot of folks riding this route, so I'm not the only user.
Clark, west to under the SOB. Left on Park, stay on park to Beech, go left.
Pass Sunrise, go to Merrick, left on Merrick and the entrance to CCP is right there. It doesn't get you the final mile on the BP from Sunrise to Merrick, but is a whole lot convoluted if you are describing it to somebody.
