Try out the Serfas RX gel seat. It has very favorable reviews at mtbr.com and mine was very soft and supportive. (The only mtb seat I have owned so far that is comfortable enough for long rides (30M-plus).
You can get it in either the softer shell or the coarser shell, which supposedly takes more wear-and-tear and abuse. Not sure if they still make the RX, but Ebay usually has a few.
