As a side comment, find some friends to ride with in your area. At some point you may feel like consistent riding is drudgery, and companionship goes a long way to minimizing the feeling that it's a chore.
I joined the Florida Freewheelers. Going to start doing some slower rides with them, and someday work my way up to the faster pace rides. Going to take a good long while, but that's the goal.
