Why that's easy. Everything that's not the actual bicycle you can do without nearly all of the time. I think that carrying too much stuff with you dilutes the experience. The trick is knowing when you are going to need to have a pump and a spare inner tube with you. Uh - I'll admit to having made a few bad calls in my lifetime but that's just added to the adventure.
