Highway 166? Why are road signs so difficult to find (read) on Nevada highways? While in Las Vegas, we did drive up to Hoover Dam and then went up to drive along the coast of Lake Mead. It took a while to find Hwy 166 but finally did. Then we got to a ranger stop which meant it was a National park area. I showed my Senior Park Pass and he let me through for free. But we did ask him about the difficult access and road signage.

We got to another ranger station and passed that. So we ended up at this bike shop in the middle of nowhere. Laker Plaza, River Mountains Bike Shop. That place is a throw back of the 1950's.

We had to back track pass the ranger station and turn left to get back to Las Vegas.

Back in 2012, the Interbike, afterwards I rode the 72 mile ride that Saturday. It was around Lake Mead and through Hoover Dam. I would like to do that part again.
