You know on http://www.cyclingforums.com a member named danfoz brought some great concerns about using them to me, including the biggest I have surgery repaired feet.
Just because you had foot surgery does not mean you cannot use clipless pedals and shoes. However cycling shoes do limit your foot position so there is not much range forward/backward and side to side. That is ok for 99 % of cyclists, but if you have a condition that requires your foot to be at an odd angle or placement, a clipless system might not work for you. You might be best served by getting advice from a local expert at a shop who can look at your setup and feet.
