Honestly, for me it was mostly volume of food. Exercise matters as does muscle tone (especially core), but the key was keeping it to 2500 or preferably 2000 calories a day. I lost steadily for over a year, and then stabilized at a good weight (205).

Also: limited fried food, masses of vegetables, fewer carbs and fruit.
BTW: This is a very difficult thing to do when your significant other is a great cook. That is how I ended up at a max weight of 280lbs. Now down to 260 and with a full planned riding season just ahead I hope to be down to 230-240 by the years end. Slow and steady as they say.
Thanks,
John S
