We will see how the program works for the season. I am optimistic that I will improve my event times from last year. One thing I really like is getting rid of the FTP testing and associated construct. My genetics do not seem to match up with that paradigm. On Tuesday, after a 10 minute HIT session on the rollers, my coach says, "for the next session ride at this power and cadence for as long as you can." My legs were toast after the HIT interval and the power he wanted was hard. When you turn the goal upside down and hold constant power and go for time, it seems a lot different. One does not want to give up or stop so you keep going.
