Lots of good rides around Blacksburg. Or if you want to try your hand at a former Tour DuPont Time Trial go to Salem and start at the Salem Civic Center, down through South Salem and up 12 O'Clock Knobb, and down through Cave Spring. I moved to South Florida for career as Roanoke is an overgrown farm town with no jobs (except healthcare, railroad or Lowe's) but it's pretty good cycling country.
