Like others have suggested start early if possible. I only average about 10-13 mph on my hybrid. If I push hard I can get to 15 mph, but I don't enjoy it. I tend to avoid organized rides because everyone seems like they're in such a hurry. I wish you were closer. We could do some rides together.
