I don't know about your LBS, but mine sells individual straight gauge spokes @$1 ea. They cut them to fit if needed.
They don't carry butted.

IF you are replacing "a few" spokes, are the others getting ready to fail?
IF they are failing in the J bend due to fatigue, the others are not far behind.
IF that's the case, replacing a couple individual spokes will just delay the inevitable. You may just as well replace them all.
