...one of the nice things about where I live here near the American river is that the
Sandhill Cranes fly over in formations every year upon arrival to nest and breed nearby
on the Mokelumne and some other spots they like.
The first flock to arrive came over today making the very distinctive sounds they make in flight.
They'll be here until fall, when they again make a big show about leaving.
