It work on the top caps on Suntour 's shock forks . You remove the top cap to change/replace the springs and dampers in the fork . The tool is to go to the consumer when they buy a bike ,but many shops didn't /don't , keep them in the shop .
I suspect bikeman is correct about this tool, but just in case:
SunTour did market a bottom bracket cartridge that used a splined tool for installation:
The tool seems to be unobtainium, but if anyone here knows where one might be available, please let me know. Not having it isn't a total wash, as Phil mounting rings fit this cartridge as well, but I would like to add the proper tool to my collection if possible.
