If you can lock up your front wheel on a descent and go over the bars, your brakes work well enough. In my opinion brakes are one of the least bang for the buck upgrades you can make. Kool stop pads will do more for you than going from Tektros to Ultegra.
true, but some peoples OCD-ness overcomes them and it MUST be done. I can get like that myself.
