I don’t think a few hours on my bike will drain it. Testing will confirm that I guess. I will download Strava for skiing this weekend and test the battery life while skiing.
I think what drains the battery is having the screen constantly on compared to ski trackers where its just in the pocket. Strava for smartphones won't be too bad if you just want to track the ride but if you want to constantly view your speed etc the screen will kill your battery. That's one of the reasons for a garmin over an app
