Here's something interesting...A few days ago I noticed the headset(?) was loose but for some reason didn't do anything about it...I guess I like to ride dangerously.
So, yesterday, before my ride, I thought, why don't you fix that loose headset? So I got out the wrench and tightened it up. At the time I wasn't thinking about the bottom bracket issues I was having...until I took it for a spin. Got up out of the saddle and on to those pedals and didn't hear a peep.
Apparently the noise was coming from the headset.
Of course it doesn't help that I'm deaf in one ear, so maybe that's why I couldn't detect where the sound was coming from.
Anyway, I think I still need to get those tools and check out the bb. It's probably well overdue for some new grease, or, at least a new one since that metal ring has popped off. Yes?
