Second time in the last few weeks I have seen someone describe the bottom bracket as European. I don't understand. It is very likely made in Asia (at least original would have been). There never has been a "European" standard bb. Back at that time, there were at least four European "standards": French, Swiss, Italian, and British, all had their own unique threading. The Asians decided to adopt the British standard.
I saw people using terms "euro"and "American" bb when referring to regular bb for three piece cranks vs bb for ashtabula cranks respectively.
