Yeah the search part is clunky, I admit - the problem is that I'm just using USAC's racer search, which also doesn't do autosuggest or name suggestions, so at this time I'm limited to what they offer.
Sorting the list is a good idea.. I was also thinking about allowing for groups (e.g. "my team", "those other guys", etc). Future updates will definitely do this part better.
