I used to have my 721 set up like that, and took it on 30+ mile rides without any major discomfort. Still, my steel Rush is far smoother riding, and has seen a couple of metric centuries w/o any comfort issues. I've found that the choice of tires has as much if not more effect on comfort as the frame material or geometry.
