Nice to hear some airlines still allow that. I cvhecked Iberia and British Airways, which I mentoned in a previous post, and I don't think today I could have done what I did back then, which was in '00. I had no way to get my case to the airport for my very early flight from Sevilla so I abandoned the box and rode to the airport. Back then, a bike counted as one of your two free pieces of checked baggage.

And yes, The bag is required to protect other luggage from grease.
