You must have gotten a steel chainring. All aluminum weighs the same, so if the chainrings are the same size and shape, they will weigh the same. Both the Miche and Blackspire chainrings are solid shapes w/o cutouts, so they should weigh about the same. The reason I chose the Blackspire is that it's one of the few 144 bcd chainrings available with 3/32" teeth.
