I thought you just upgraded to a cat 2 ... imo, the races are much much faster than cat 3, especially hilly road races, so don't feel bad. Almost 8,000 feet of climbing, and you are not very small that is a brutal race in any category, but a fresh cat 2, anything other than dropped would be surprising.

They DNP'd 2/3 of the race. I think I ended up right around middle-of-the-starters. I dunno. I have never had any measure of success at that course. Something about the profile is just antithetical to my power profile, but "doing things I am not good at" (crits, that race in 12s, this TT course today) is part of my character building this season.
