The whyte r7 has really unique geometry is very stable (long wheelbase and relaxed front geometry), and the gearing is absolutely spot on and very fast. Try a Stirling if ur lbs has one to get a taste of the geometry , which is similar across the r7 range. I found the sirrus (aluminium and carbon ) very upright and boring compared to the whyte bikes. ( in fact I had a loan Whyte Cambridge which I thought was nicer to ride even). I suspect the montpellier is lighter , but it will be close. the Specialized has a lovely carbon frame, but ride it and decide. The montpellier for 2014 has a striking Matt ud carbon finish like a stealth fighter. All just my opinion, but given the vastly different geometry on these bikes, I'd test ride first.
Thanks for this. I am picking up my Montpellier on the 1st May!!!!
